It is obvious that nightlife is dangerous for those whose age is still not mature enough. There are a lot of crime that occur in the night, such as rape, robbery, homicide, and many more. Teenagers often become the victim of those crimes, especially being raped, robbed, even kidnapped. As a result, curfew imposed by the parents to protect them from the dangerous of nightlife, like the crimes mentioned above. Many people do not agree with curfew. However, I believe that curfews keep teens out of trouble.
It is generally not very safe for teens to be out at night on their own. Parents can prevent many problems by requiring their children to return home early, especially if they are too young. Midnight life is full of something bad for teenagers especially girl. In many cases, teenagers, become the victims of several crimes, even doing the crime itself. Moreover, teens are sitting ducks for the criminals. As it is dark and there are not many people around, they become more vulnerable and look so weak and also easy to be attack. That is why the criminal often use teenagers as targets of their crimes. With curfew, it is expected to protect adolescent from crime at night. Curfew also helps parents to protect their children from unwanted things, as it is very dangerous to be outside at night for children. With curfew, parents will sure where their children are and they do not have to be worry about their children getting in trouble at night. Most people who support curfew believe that parents can prevent many problems by requiring their children to return home early, especially if they are too young. Furthermore, there are no places where teenagers under 18 years old can go after midnight. Some places only allow people aged above 18 years old or even more to enter, for example night club. So there is no reason for them to be out, unless there is an important and rare event or thing to do, like prom, or something that held at night. Even so, many people do not agree with this idea. One of their reason is there are some teenagers that can behave and understand what is right and what is wrong. I cannot accept this as a reason to let the children outside at night. Why? Because the dangerous from nightlife is not only come from the teenagers itself, but most come from other people who have a negative purposed on them. Teenagers mostly become the victim, even though some cases prove that there are some teenagers that become the agent of the crime itself. As I said above, kids, even teenagers are sitting ducks for the criminals. In my conclusion, parents need to set a time limit for the kids to return home based on their age. Otherwise, if the parents over-punish them, they will be deprived too much of social activity, or they will try to rebel and be a bad kid because they feel depressed about the law and curious about what will happen if they break it.
